Local directory marketing is one of the simplest and fastest ways to get search rankings and traffic. To increase your small business visibility on the net there are many different options. But all those options can fast become overwhelming and lead to paralysis in your marketing endeavors. So to avoid information overload let’s just start with the simple stuff first – e.g. getting your business listed in the top 3 directories – Google Local Business Center, Yahoo Local Listings and bing Local Business Center. To keep it simple we’ll just go to each of these directories directly. Here are the directory links:
- Google Local Business Center: http://www.google.com/lbc You will need a free Google account.
- Yahoo Local: http://listings.local.yahoo.com/ You will need a free Yahoo ID
- bing Local Listing Center: https://ssl.bing.com/listings/ListingCenter.aspx You will need a free Windows Live id
There are tons more local directories but if you’re just beginning your local marketing efforts start with the big three.
